Hello lovelies,
I thought I would type up another blog for any of you reading this because I really do love blogging and I love that it is a place where I can put all of my thoughts and emotions into one place instead of them keeping them in my head which would probably lead to a massive headache or something like that.
Today I wanted to type up a worded version of 'My YouTube Journey' because I wanted to do a video version of it however I am leaving that to my 2 year on YouTube! Which yes, is a very long way away (technically just under 8 months away) but I wanted to do this in case any of you reading this or reading this later in time wanted to know about my YouTube story so here it is...
On The 9th November 2012 I created my channel 'Originally Courtney' this was because I had decided to start a new channel, which wasn't really a shock for me because I always used to start new channels. However this was different! I really wanted to make a big effort into it, spending time on actually filming vlogs and not standing in front of a pink sheet using it as a green screen. Who knows I one day may feature some of that old footage for you guys! Or creating music videos like the original 2010/2011 music video stage which many of my current YouTube friends went through as well. The truth is I was actually making videos back in 2009/2010 however they were mostly silly webcam videos or adding pictures together into a slideshow. This technically means I have been making videos for 5 years now which actually seems crazy to think of, that's a 1/3 of my life.
Anyway I created Originally Courtney but I abbreviate it as 'OC' on the 9th November 2012 and uploaded my first video 'The Throwback Tag' which is currently still up on the 10th November 2012. Just a warning I had actually just turned 14 but I do think I look so young compared to now. Gradually my subscribers kept going up and to any of you who don't make YouTube videos, when you gain subscribers you get a kind of 'buzz' you can see the number getting higher and it gives you a feeling of 'euphoria' in a simple form. I'm pretty sure Brad Simpson from The Vamps would be happier to hear me repeating 'don't do drugs kids get high on life' and this is what YouTube is to me! You get a buzz of happiness and I still get that today.
So on the 10th December 2012 I reached 100 subscribers which when you create a YouTube channel your first 100 subscribers seems like a big number. Twenty days later I reached 200 and then thirteen days later I reached 300 subscribers and from my journey to 100 subscribers to 900 subscribers I was gaining pretty much 100+ subscribers per month. However on the 21st May 2013 I reached 900 subscribers and shockingly only 9 days later I reached 1,000. I don't think I could explain how happy I was when I reached 1,000 subscribers, and to many people it may not be a lot but picturing 1,000 people in front of you is crazy. From then on I lost count of how many subscribers I gained at the 100 count instead I started aiming towards the next 500 or 1000 subscribers.
So I continued making videos from November 2012 and I am still creating them currently and along the way yes people have slowly found out and now the majority of my school/year now and if you would have asked me a few months ago if I cared if school people found out I would have cared but now I've realized it really doesn't bother me. I have came to realize without YouTube i wouldn't have had some amazing opportunities. Making most of my friends I am friends with now and I get on better with these people compared to people I have known for quite a few years. Also every day I have the joy of getting people commenting, viewing, liking, subscribing my videos and my channel and I truly don't think anyone understands the feeling if you aren't a YouTuber yourself. Furthermore, I have been able to be paid for creating my videos and something I enjoy. I'm being honest it's not enough but its enough to call my little 'part time job' and this literally covers me going to see my friends in London maybe once a month and to put aside for any equipment i may be saving up towards to. Creating videos online has actually got me noticed which is really weird, nice and crazy at the same time. Once last year and twice this year, to some people that may mean nothing but to me it means so much and coming up to me and saying "You're originallycourtney aren't you? I watch your videos" creates such an amazing feeling. Furthermore there is further opportunities i have gained like joining YouthTube and GBPostersUK and many more things that may happen throughout this year.
There isn't much to say apart from that. I'm looking forward to seeing where my YouTube journey goes from here and I can't wait to share it with you guys!
Lots Of Love
